Post Office API Change Affects Thousands of eCommerce Websites
If you have an e-commerce website, have you run a test order lately? If not, you should evaluate your shipping options and make sure they are functioning properly. On July 28, 2013 the US Post Office changed their API settings. (Those are the settings used to plug into and integrate the shipping options and pricing on e-commerce platforms.) The USPS changed the names of Priority Mail and Express Mail rendering the old shipping options inactive on a number of websites that use the US Post Office e-commerce integration such as Magento, X-Cart, Miva Merchant, osCommerce, Zen Cart, PrestaShop, Open Cart, CREloaded, Drupal, and many other shopping carts affected. See the links to each respective shopping cart platform for forum help.
If you find that your website shipping options are affected, you should contact your developer or tech support for your website platform to see about adjusting the API feed or applying a patch.
